Now that I have your attention:

Today is Father’s Day. Perhaps you will be getting some new clothes. Perhaps since it is also the start of summer you have done some spring cleaning. Here is a great way to pass on to those in great need, what you no longer need.

A note from Catholic Charities:
We are in great need of men’s underwear (doesn’t have to be new, just clean), men’s belts, men’s jeans, cords and sweats (we have lots of dress pants) and men’s shoes in large sizes (11 and larger). I bet there are lots of these items going unused in people’s closets. If these items have already been purchased and aren’t being used we can make good use of them. I would encourage the congregation NOT to go out and buy new. Thanks so much.

“What does love look like? It has the hands to help others. It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has eyes to see misery and want. It has the ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men. That is what love looks like”. St. Augustine

OBTW – Giving to others in need IS the perfect gift. The Social Justice Committee will have some collection boxes in the back of church next week, or you can drop items off at the rectory during business hours.
